Reaper Prologue

Reaper Prologue

Side Note: Saw Naevron post his original “True Immortal” story, and it made me think that I should probably stop hesitating when it comes to the internet. So, I guess I’ll face my fears and post something original of my own (Criticism is always welcome).

A silent sigh whispered through the woods as she walked, her white dress glowing in the darkness of dusk. Her pale hair flowed behind her, swept up by an invisible wind, but she made no sound. Around her, animals scuttled away in what seemed to be fear. Even trees seemed to edge themselves away from her. Yet, her cherry colored lips curled up into a smile as if everything was a joke. Slowly, she stumbled to a halt, her brilliant blue eyes staring upwards at the starry sky.

The woman’s face was beautiful. Cheekbones high, soft eyes, and delicate lips. She seemed to almost glow like a phantom in the woods.

“Soon,” she murmured into the sky. Then her smile faded, and her head drooped. The woman’s eyes became watery, threatening tears as the glow around her started to fade.

“Soon,” she repeated. Her voice sounded sad, yet pleasant. It felt like the last cherry blossom of the season.

The woods slowly closed in as the woman fell to her knees, her face buried in her hands, her body convulsing and shaking. Soon, the woods became completely silent. All eyes fell upon the woman, her glow now completely gone. In the darkness, she kneeled, grasping her left side, as blood flowed freely, staining her dress.

The forest seemed suffocating, as it seemed to close in closer and closer. Branches appeared to reach out towards the woman, gnarled and twisted, closing in, and everything became darker and darker.

The woman, still clutching her abdomen in one hand, waved her left hand and the illusion was broken. She continued to bleed for what seemed to be hours, the trees now standing vigil for her. Her eyes fluttered, and she took her bloodied hands off her waist, cupped them, and blew into them. Light faded from her eyes as an electric blue butterfly flew into the air. She watched it flutter, flying farther and farther away.

Then, she was gone. For all anything knew, she was simply a figment the world’s imagination. Even so, the wind seemed to remember. If one listened closely, it seemed to whisper, “She who wielded life.

    Ooh a new story.
Recently Ive only been hooked on reading ATF and I havent really found any other literature that has satisified me. Im really hoping this will also entertain me in my free time. Also, not sure why all the “i”s where replaced with “u”s in the text but I could still read it.

    Keep up the good work
